Google Search has launched an interactive Easter egg celebrating the release of BTS’s first album in four years, Arirang. The hidden quest requires fans to answer challenging trivia questions about the K-pop group to unlock collectible cards.
How to Access the Quest
Typing “BTS” into the Google search bar triggers an animation of album art. A small ship-in-a-bottle icon appears at the bottom of the screen, referencing the group’s recent “SWIM” music video. Clicking the ship initiates a “Scavenger Hunt” game accessible on both desktop (via QR code scanning) and mobile devices.
The Challenge: Not for Casual Fans
The trivia isn’t simple. Questions test in-depth knowledge of BTS’s history, music, and inside jokes. As of today, over 16 million users have already participated, proving the game’s popularity. The questions are hard enough that a Reddit thread has already sprung up to help fans out.
BTS Returns After Military Service
The Arirang release marks the official reunion of BTS after a hiatus that began in June 2022. All seven members – RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook – completed their mandatory military service in South Korea by June 2025. They spent their time off on solo projects before returning to the group.
Massive World Tour and Streaming
BTS is backing up the album with an 82-date world tour, which will be streamed live in cinemas and on Netflix. The comeback signifies the group’s renewed focus on global engagement, leveraging both traditional concert experiences and digital distribution.
The interactive Google Search game highlights the deep connection between BTS and its dedicated fanbase, known as ARMY. It’s a playful way to celebrate the group’s return, rewarding loyal fans with an engaging experience.
