So. It blows.
That is actually good news, mostly because timing works in your favor. New models are cluttering up store shelves right now while older stock gets cleared out aggressively.
You might just want a better way to watch the Stanley Cup. Maybe Project Hail Mary is your real obsession and you refuse to let poor picture quality ruin the science fiction experience. The goal here isn’t to bloat your budget, it’s to help you find screens that actually perform.
We looked for upgrades that don’t just feel different. We looked for ones that are different.
Hisense is being unusually generous with discounts this weekend. If you are willing to look beyond the premium names, these are the moves worth making.
The Smartest Spend: Hisense U6 Pro
The 2026 model year has officially arrived. Shocking, right? Some are already discounted, specifically Hisense’s U6 Pro.
It sits in that sweet spot where performance doesn’t require bankruptcy. The tech is serious though: Mini-LED backlighting, quantum-dot color, and AI-driven processing. Brightness peaks at 1,200 nuts—wait, nits. And for gamers? A native 144Hz refresh rate and FreeSync Premium Pro are baked in.
Launched earlier this month, really, the 75-inch version is already nearly 40 percent off. That’s a steep drop for tech so fresh.
The 75-inch U6 Pro on sale is nearly 40% less than its launch price.
OLED Entry: LG B5
LG’s cheapest OLED from last year, the B5, is now deeply discounted since their 2026 line arrived. It’s close to half the original price.
OLED just looks better. Especially in dim rooms.
If you are moving from QLED or standard LED, the difference will be stark. Blacks are actual blacks. Contrast pops. You get Dolby Vision, Filmmaker mode, Dolby Atmos, and a 120Hz rate. Lots of AI features help tune the picture, too.
Wouldn’t you rather have perfect black levels than more screen real estate? Probably. The B5 stands out when it’s dark, and frankly, it stands out for how good the picture quality is at this price point. Upgrading from LED here isn’t subtle. It’s impressive.
Art on a Budget: Hisense Canvas
Art mode is a luxury. It doesn’t have to be expensive.
The Hisense 55-inch Canvas is at an all-time low: $599.99, basically.
It’s often called a “dupe” for Samsung’s Frame, but let’s check that claim. Leah Stodart, our TV expert, noted it is actually a better value in many ways. The refresh rate is higher (144Hz vs 120Hz). It has two HDMI 2.1 inputs. Google TV runs it, which is just faster and easier than Samsung’s menu. And crucially, it has a free digital art library.
No subscription fees. None.
Samsung wants you to keep paying. Hisense gives it away with the panel.
The weekend sales don’t end when you leave this page. But they don’t last forever, either. Pick one, or maybe just pick a better pillow and stick with what you have.
