Samsung wants your eyes. All of them. For two hours anyway.
London, July 22. The Galaxy Unpacked event is happening whether we are ready or not. Rumors leak like water. They point to a massive hardware drop. Six devices. Maybe more. No holding back.
Here is what hits the shelves next month.
Three Foldables. Confusion Included
Samsung doesn’t mess around in July anymore. It is the foldable season. Historically, that meant one book-style phone (the Fold) and one clamshell (the Flip). 2026 breaks the mold.
Get used to three screens folding into your pocket:
- Galaxy Z Flip 8
- Galaxy Z Fold 8
- Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra
Wait. Two Folds? It looks messy on paper. But here is the twist. The “Z Fold 8” is not the direct successor to the Z Fold 7. That job goes to the Ultra model.
The regular Z Fold 8? It’s the new wide phone. Think of it as Samsung’s answer to the unannounced foldable iPhone. We expect a 5.4-inch cover screen and a 7.8-inch display inside. It is bigger. It is different. It’s a direct jab at Apple’s upcoming play.
The Z Fold 8 Ultra keeps things familiar. It looks like the Fold 7 but wears a new Snapdragon processor inside. The main camera jumps to 200 megapixels. Samsung is also trying, yet again, to make the hinge crease less noticeable. Spoiler alert: it is never fully gone. But it helps.
The Z Flip 8 follows suit. Same clamshell design. Faster chip. Slightly less obvious fold line.
And the price?
Remember “RAMageddon”? Chips cost more now. Pass that on. You should expect higher stickers for every device on stage. Welcome to 2026.
Watches Get Incremental, Not Radical
Wearables usually get the quiet update. Samsung is no exception this cycle. Expect two watches. Just two.
- Galaxy Watch 9
- Galaxy Watch Ultra 2
Do not expect a revolution. Health tracking features will tick forward. Sensors will tweak.
The Watch Ultra 2 gets some love. Thinner bezels. Better side buttons. Some reports mention classic hour markers on the face for a retro vibe. It feels premium. It stays premium.
The bad news for nostalgia hunters: Galaxy Watch Classic is dead this year. Samsung dropped the ball on a dedicated “Classic” tier. You get the standard and the ultra. Take it or leave it.
The Glasses Finally Arrive
They are coming. We know it. Samsung does too.
Call them Galaxy Glasses. Call them “AI Specs.” Doesn’t matter. They debut in July.
But forget Her. Forget the Iron Man HUD. This is Meta territory. These are audio-first devices with a camera on the bridge of your nose.
What do they do?
- Record your view (if you ask)
- Talk to Google Gemini about what you see
- Listen to things
No augmented reality overlays floating in your vision. No heads-up display for navigation. Just AI assistance. It is a smart companion. Not a computer.
It works with Google’s tech stack. It sees what you see. It answers what you ask.
Is that enough to justify wearing tech on your face in public?
We will see in London. The stage is set. The chips are hot. The prices are higher.
See you there. 🕶️
