A new watch band called Smartlet allows wearers to simultaneously sport a traditional luxury watch and a smartwatch on the same wrist. The Paris-based startup unveiled the device at CES 2026, offering a solution for those unwilling to choose between style and functionality.
The Core Concept: Two Watches, One Wrist
The idea emerged from founder David Ohayon’s personal frustration with swapping between his analog and Apple Watch daily. Smartlet’s modular strap system accommodates most major smartwatches (Apple Watch, Samsung Galaxy Watch, Google Pixel Watch, Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop) and mechanical watches with lug widths of 18-24mm – including high-end brands like Omega, Tudor, TAG Heuer, and Rolex.
The strap itself is the core product, priced between $400 (stainless steel) and $700 (titanium) – without including either watch. Smartlet aims to bridge the gap between classic horology and modern tech by allowing users to seamlessly transition from a polished executive look to fitness tracking, all with a flick of the wrist.
Design and Practicality
Early hands-on tests suggest the device is surprisingly lightweight, adding only 9-12mm of height to the underside of the wrist. CNET’s Tara Brown noted the band felt lighter than expected despite housing two devices.
However, durability remains a concern; strapping a second device to the underside increases the risk of scratches. The system pairs well with screenless trackers like Whoop 5, which integrate directly into the metal clasp, providing health tracking without compromising the luxury watch’s integrity.
Target Audience and Aesthetic
Smartlet’s marketing positions it towards affluent men who value luxury watches but also desire modern tech features. The branding leans into “luxury watch culture,” implying the product is for those who want to showcase their investment pieces while tracking fitness data.
The product is essentially a status symbol for those who want to signal wealth without sacrificing convenience.
The concept remains niche, but Smartlet offers a unique approach to wearable tech. It may not be for everyone, but for those who refuse to choose between brains and beauty, it provides a novel solution.
