The adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel returns this week with its second season, now exclusively on Prime Video. Following the explosive conclusion of Season 1, Charlie Morningstar’s hellish rehabilitation center is back in operation, though this time with even higher stakes.
From YouTube Hit to Prime Video Commission
Originally a viral success on YouTube created by Vivienne Medrano, Hazbin Hotel has been greenlit for two additional seasons by Prime Video. The show centers around Charlie Morningstar, the daughter of Lucifer, who operates a hotel designed to help demons redeem themselves and enter heaven.
Season 2: A Power Struggle in Hell
Season 2 picks up after Morningstar’s improbable victory over heaven’s forces. However, her success has attracted unwanted attention from powerful demon overlords, the Vees, who threaten to seize control of the operation. This sets the stage for a new conflict that could destabilize both hell and heaven.
New Music and Voice Cast Additions
The first season’s soundtrack notably reached the Billboard Top 20, and Season 2 promises an even stronger musical presence. Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick Stump joins the cast as Abel, a character positioned as a gentle contrast to his rock-star persona.
How to Watch
Hazbin Hotel Season 2 will premiere with the first two episodes on Wednesday, October 29 at 12 a.m. PT / 3 a.m. ET. Two new episodes will be released each Wednesday until the final two installments drop on November 19.
Prime Video is included with an Amazon Prime membership ($15/month or $139/year), but standalone streaming subscriptions are also available for $9/month.
Hazbin Hotel ’s transition from independent animation to a major streaming platform demonstrates the growing appetite for adult-oriented, musical content, and sets the stage for an increasingly competitive landscape in animated entertainment.
